Heads or Tails: heads - Vegas, tails - Class VI - Mountain River… Tails!
Instead of the bright lights and card tables of Vegas, a few Ductman employees chose the whitewater and treetops of Class VI – Mountain River as their vacation destination.
Jeremiah Riffle, Dan Leber, Rob Kimberly and Bobby Cooper, all of Columbus, Ohio, took a break from disaster restoration to raft the lower New River Friday, took duckies down lower Gauley River Saturday and went on the canopy tour Sunday.
Leber has visited Class VI – Mountain River in the past and suggested the rafting facility to his co-workers instead of going out west.
“We had a blast,” Leber said. “We’re definitely glad we decided to come here instead of Vegas.”
“The upper New was intense!” Riffle said laughing.
Steve-O and Eric, the group’s river guides, showed the guys a good time.
“This is something we don’t do often,” Kimberly, owner of Ductman, said. “It’s a nice experience outside of work.”
After cleaning up and restoring a few more homes, the guys said they wanted to come back later in the summer for Gauley season.
